Top Foods For Winter Entertaining

Winter brings cool temperatures and gloomy evenings, both of which are perfect reasons for enjoying some warm, savoury and hearty winter foods. If you’re thinking of holding a dinner party over Christmas or early into the New Year, the following are some top foods that are perfect for winter entertaining:

Spicy Fondue

A combination of chesses, peppers and lots of other goodness, spicy fondue is the perfect appetiser for a winter party. It’s inexpensive and easy to make. It doesn’t take long to cook, it’s easy to serve and it tastes amazing. What’s not to like?

Hog Roast

Whether your party venue location calls for a Liverpool Hog Roast or a hog roast in London, the mere sight and smell of a hog roasting over an open spit makes this catering option a perfect winter food that’s favoured by many.

Pasta

Although it might not sound very interesting, saucy plates of pasta are always a great dish to include on a winter party menu. If you’re feeling very adventurous, however, you can make a little more effort with this by whipping up a creamy bowl of delicious pumpkin risotto.

Spinach Pie

Offering a hearty dining experience that’s weather appropriate, spinach pie is the perfect choice if you’ve got a large guest list. It’s super easy to make and it can be made in the morning and heated up again in the evening, which allows for a stress-free host and a hassle-free evening.

Homemade Vegetable Soup

There’s probably nothing more comforting than a big bowl of homemade vegetable soup on a cold winter’s day. Agree? Thought so! A perfect blend of veggies, spices and some stock, it’s the ultimate winter party appetiser. It’s best served with some homemade brown bread or some crispy bread rolls.

Regardless of whether you choose to go with some, none or even all of the above, just ensure that your winter menu includes lots of crowd-pleasing comfort foods and rich desserts and your guests will be happy.
